Protecting little teeth – Feb 2023 is National Dental Health Month

Protecting little teeth – Feb 2023 is National Dental Health Month. Dental and Medical Organizations use this month to highlight that Dental Cavities are the most common chronic disease in children. “It is about 5 times more common than asthma and 7 times more common than hay fever.” It is also preventable.

Tips to prevent Children’s Dental Cavities

At Dentistry For Children, we want to help parents prevent this common chronic disease in their children. Here are Three Simple Tips that parents and children can do daily.
  • Encourage children to brush their Teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste. (Children under 6yo need parental help brushing)

  • Have Children floss their Teeth daily. (Children under 6yo may need flossing help from parents)

  • Eat Healthy foods and limit sugary drinks

Finally, we want parents to schedule their children’s dental appointments twice a year. If you are looking for a pediatric dentist or need help with your child’s dental health, please Email or (816) 548-3400
