Dr. Pollina received his Doctoral of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Missouri of Kansas City School of Dentistry in 1997. He was top in his class and graduated with honors. Next, Dr. Pollina graduated from the Pediatric Dentistry Program sponsored by Children’s Mercy Hospital in 1999.
Joined Dentistry For Children in 1999
After graduating from Children’s Mercy Hospital’s Pediatric Dentistry Program, Dr. Pollina joined Dentistry For Children Practice in 1999. Currently, he owns the Dentistry For Children Gladstone and Liberty offices. Dr. Pollina continues his vision of his Pediatric Dental offices providing services to the community through a safe and comfortable environment that educates families and community partners on good oral health practices.
Commitment to patients
For over 20 years, Dr. Pollina has been committed to giving access to care for all his young patients and using the current technology and education to deliver these services. His favorite part of children’s dentistry is engaging in patients’ and families’ lives and building relationships and trust with them.
Awards and Honors
Each year Northland’s Courier-Tribune and Gladstone Dispatch award the top three Pediatric Dentists in Clay County. Dr. Pollina received this award in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022.
2023 Business of the Year Award
At the January 2024 Gladstone Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Dr. Pollina received two awards. He received the 2023 Business of the Year Award and an Award for serving as Board Director.
Family Life
Dr. Pollina was born and raised in Kansas City’s Northland. He is married and has four beautiful children who are highly active. During his off time, he enjoys spending time with his children and working on classic muscle cars.

Dentistry for Children- Gladstone was absolutely fantastic for my 2.5 year olds first visit and cleaning. Hygienist Adriana and Dr. Pollina were very energetic, fun, and fast. They showed my toddler all the instruments they were using and helped him feel relaxed. The environment in the office is very kid-centered and decorated in a whimsical way. On the way out my toddler said, “I want to see the dentist again.” We couldn’t have asked for a better first visit! Thank you!
First off, full disclosure I am a dentist at Comfort Dental in Gladstone. My little girl got cavities. (yes as a dentist I was embarrassed because i brush her teeth every night and morning.) But I understand that despite that, kids can get cavities. I would have done her work myself but when its your kid its very hard to do their dental work. When I took my little girl to Dr. Pollina he was amazing! All i wanted was for her to have a good experience and to get better. His gentle nature and care for children showed in how my daughter reacted.
She loves her “bubble nose” (that means the bubble gum flavored mask for the nitrous gas.)my daughter still wears it for fun and asks if she can go back to the dentist. She is so proud that her dad is a dentist who helps people when there teeth hurt. When i get home she says “Dad, did you fix peoples teeth?” and I say yes I did. Then she gives me a hug. If you have a child that needs dental work go to Dentistry for children. If you are an adult come see me ;).
But seriously I have the upmost respect for Dr. Pollina and his staff. Thank you for showing people that dentist’s care and do great work especially with kids.
